Check car wash height clearance before you go

On this page

A car wash can have different height limits for its automatic equipment and self-serve bays. Check the specific bay you plan to use, including any separate width or equipment restrictions.

Compare bay-specific limits

Location Automatic height limit Self-serve height limit
Jurassic — Potranco 7 ft 10 ft
Jurassic — Marbach 7 ft 11 ft
Mighty Clean 8 ft 10 ft

These are operator-listed limits checked October 12, 2026. Sources: Potranco, Marbach and Mighty Clean. Confirm signs and current restrictions at the site.

Measure your vehicle as it will arrive

Check the vehicle’s height including fitted roof racks, cargo, ladders or other accessories. A standard model specification may not describe a modified or loaded vehicle.

If the measurement is uncertain or close to the posted limit, ask the operator about an appropriate bay before entering. This directory does not certify that a vehicle fits.

Keep width and height separate

Mighty Clean describes self-serve bays up to 17 ft wide. That number is a width, rather than permission for a 17 ft tall vehicle. The operator separately lists a 10 ft self-serve height limit.

Check width and other equipment restrictions as well, particularly for a dually truck or a vehicle with protruding accessories. Being within a height limit alone does not establish that every wash method is suitable.

Confirm the wash method too

An automatic bay’s clearance does not tell you whether it is touchless. In our sample, Marbach lists an automatic wash but does not identify its contact method.

Use the San Antonio comparison to view wash methods alongside known limits. For locations with no published clearance, contact the operator. Read our wash-type guide before choosing equipment.
